Meet The Staff
Mark Wisman
:: Head Golf Professional
Head Golf Professional Head PGA Golf Professional Mark Wisman is starting his sixth season at Bear Slide Golf Club. Mark started his professional management at Meridian Hills Country Club in 1989. His first Head Professional position was secured at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour Indiana in 1994. He then moved to Chicago where he was employed as the General Manager at Westgate Valley Golf Club a 36-hole public facility. From there he came to Bear Slide. His PGA Professional Class A member level will benefit the club's members.

Scott Effinger
:: Assistant Professional
Assistant Professional Golfing experiences for Scott began officially in 1995 while attending Marian College in the bag room of Meridian Hills. His experience broadened as he became the Asst. Pro at Shadowood in 1996. He continued his golfing education while working as the Asst. Pro at Grand Oak Golf Club in West Harrison, IN.

He joined the pro staff at Bear Slide in April 1999.

Chris Thuer
:: Head Superintendent
Head Superintendent Chris Thuer is in his third season as Head Superintendent at Bear Slide Golf Club. Chris came to Bear Slide from Frankfort Country Club where here was the Head Superintendent for nine years. Chris has over 20 years experience in golf course maintencance. He is graduate from Purdue University with a degree in Agronomy. Chris also, became a Certified Golf Course Superintendent in June of 2000.

Bill Howell
:: Assistant Superintendent
Assistant Superintendent Bill graduated as a National Honor Society member from Frankfort Senior High School in Frankfort, Indiana, class of 1996. He went onto study Spanish and Communication at Purdue University before joining the maintenance crew at the Frankfort Country Club. He worked a season at The Players Club at Woodland Trials in Muncie Indiana before returning to Frankfort Country Club for 2 more years. Bill is currently in his third season at Bear Slide Golf Club.

Muttley
:: Course Dog
Course Dog Muttley was purchased from the Hamilton County Humane Society in October of 2003 and is currently in his third season as the course dog.
